Auntie Winnie Cuarteron Lim Passed Away
Dear Flor, Melba, Bian2x & Don2x, Iya Narda & d whole clan,
I am so sorry to hear about your great loss, the passing away of your Ma.
Our family is with you at this moment of sorrow. We fully understand how it feels to lose a parent, especially a Mother dear. No one can replace a Mother who nurtures us with an unconditional love beyond compare. ‘The arms that rock the cradle rock the world.’ Yes we all benefited from it.
Your Mama Winnie was a kind loving mother, relative, friend and neighbor since then. I could feel the warmth of her love despite of time and distance as I spoke with her by long distance a month more ago. While cheering and encouraging her, we were talking about a plan with Nora and sisters (Emma, Pipin and Baby) for your visit to us here in Washington, D.C. next year. And because of Canadian Law, she has to wait for another year of residency to go for vacation and this also barred her including the group from attending the Virginia Beach Tagon-ons USA Reunion. I tried calling her back at 5:00p that day but no one answered your phone. I could not do it again since I was so busy at work and with important domestic matters, even until this past weekend when she was already in the verge of facing the Lord.
Noli told me about your Ma’s massive heart attacked last Thurs night after their talk with Eddie and Chat while on their way to your house. Nora called me Sunday morning and left me a message because we were in the Church attending a Mass. Tu-o2x kon dili but a big “lagong†met me at the apt. after the Mass. So, I told myself, “Amo naâ€Â. I tried calling Nora for several attempts since Sunday evening but a strange male voice always answered her phone: could be phone line disruption and not a ghost. I could not locate where I wrote your phone# that Nora gave me and I forgot also to save it in my cell phone. I have to call Nora first to get your phone# but to no avail, not until this morning when I learned from her of your Ma’s internment. She also told me that Noli had spoken with Flor already (inday diin siya nan # mo). That gave me a big relief.
“Man proposes, God disposes", Time was too short, it didn’t allow us to see each other again. To conclude, “Time has come for her to return to our Creator†with whom she is now enjoying heavenly peace, no more pains but endless joy. I will cherish her loving ways and I will always remember her by heart. She is another Mana Pobling of anhing Manong Tino (May he also Rest-in-Heavenly Peace). I will dearly miss Mana Winnie.
May her memory and the special life she devoted to you, her siblings help ease the sadness of your loss. May she rest in heavenly peace with the angels and saints, Mother Mary and the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven.
And, may God bless you and strengthen your faith in Him always!
