hi bon and coletz! amo gayud yaon an gusto niyo na spelling nan matthew and philip? how about spanish or spanish-sounding names to go with your family name?

i wanna speak my mind and i hope it's ok with you. sana pa-vote kamo sa names after the baby is born. wala lang, just my personal "belief".

if i really, really have to choose from the list, i'd go for joshua or sean.

Hi Mi! Thanks for posting. typo error da yaon Matthew. we have decided on the Philippe rather than the usual Philip. dili ganahan si bonsal nan spanish sounding names.

i see. ok. i think i'll go for sean philippe. i like the name joshua but i don't feel comfy with raven, an ma-associate ko nan raven na name kay girl, yadton gani sa tv show na TGIF before :)

have you also considered the meaning of those names?

I am totally with Mimi on this Bon. I like Joshua but not much with Raven. So I would go for Sean Philippe.

Colez & Bon: I will go for BRENT MATT(Matthew) kay parehas nan intial ni BON and beside dili kon common na ngan ngaton sa Filipinas. Kon anga-an mo nan Brent parehas kamo Bon nan initial. Kon Matt isab parehas kamo si MaryGrace. What do you think? Personally I like BRENT. Kon iya da initial, da na kamo tanan as in B=Brent/Bon,M=Matthew/Marygrace.Coleto Salinas. (B.M.C.S.). Take into consideration how the native (bisaya) will pronounce his name. Ex: Sean as in shun or siyan; Ethan as in Atan, tan...etc.etc. (Don't get me wrong, they are all excellent names.) basi ma murder an iya ngan. :( ( especially by oldest generation)

Mr. & Mrs Admin,

I voted for "ETHAN BON" for following reasons:

A) One will not second guess kon unon spelling kay it's spelled just as it sounds.

B) In filling out forms, which you'll be sooner than you think, the letters in Ethan Bon will not overflow the boxes. Dili kadayaw kon taas.

C) Ini from experience, Alex's full name is, ALEXA DANNIELLE. Usahay ag mo lapaw sa boxes nan forms. Lipa tan-awon kay daskon sa para mo sebu. And, already we had to amend her records twice. Once, the person who processed her passport was remiss and missed one "N" and the other, kami mismo ! ! ! We left out one "L". We need to go back and fix it kay mga legal documents sa gud.

D) Karlo's pet peeve - when he get's cards or presents and his name is spelled with a "C". He'll refuse it. It's not for him he argues, "my name is spelled with a "K" not a 'C'". Koman medyo ok na siya but he'll ask you to spell it right the next time.

Na hala good luck. . .

bon&colets,

disclaimer: sorry, but i don't go for american sounding names, though i like ethan hawke, the actor.

my choice: joshua (sans raven) because it sounds filipino and above all, it has biblical moorings.

(ps: unhon na haw girlet pagtunga? pocholo isaak's ultra sound at 8 months had dr. zozobrado saying it's a girl.) :D

parehasi kita, spy...my friend also had an untrasound at 8+ months and was told that her baby's a girl. pag gawas da, laki baya. inkatabunan kuno siguro an tintin during the ultrasound. and another reason na ganahan ako after the baby is born na magdecide sa names is the belief na di kuno madayaw na ipanulti daan an ngan before manganak, pwede da kuno between the parents. naman si marti, nan bunyag na gayud yahibawo an tanan :)

Na sukwahi gayud kita Mi kay ako dili gayud ako motuo nan mga tinuohan nan buktot naman pirmi kami maglalis ni mama. mas motuo pa ako nan mga data combination generated by computer. Inarguably, there's no scientific theorem to prove that assertion. I also remember that there was a biblical setting wherein the name of the child was divulged to the people prior its birth. Pero, an pinaka-importante sa tanan... help us pray for the successul, healthy & safe delivery of our baby. Thank you so much for all your comments. Keep on coming.... :) :) :)

generally, di ako matuohon sa mga tinuohan. yaon da lamang an medjo may "impact" sa ako. when marti was in super critical condition and stayed in the NICU for 6 weeks, yakalaong ako to myself na di naa ako magsige hunahuna unoy i-name sa iya kay what if she won't survive. but then again, i know that it's only God who can make things happen, He's the only one who holds each one's "master plan" and destiny. like i said, ako da yaon personal belief. i didn't claim that there's a scientific explanation to it. Ginoo day gayud hibawo, bisan science dag-on Niya. Sorry for thinking aloud. From now on, i'll stop expressing my thoughts. Yes, may Coletz have a safe delivery and u both have a healthy baby.

bon,

unfair kay yaon sa buktot; you should apologize hahahahahaha balitaw, to each his/her own belief. and i understand where you're coming from, plus, of course, tetet's medical background. but i also perfectly understand mimi's concern. sigurado ako na an tubag ni mana ely amo ini: bon-bon, wara say mawa kanimo haw mutuo kaw....

ako yaon sa tunga. because i believe that not everything can be explained by science. maternal impression for one.

pero an importante na tetet will have a safe delivery, the baby's sex and name become secondary, right?

good luck and god bless to you both.

Aduy... Balitaw, pasensya na kamo. We are both neophytes in this. Magahiay pareho an U isab, way yakalaung sa amo bahin nan yaun kanaman dire-diretso da lamang. When I was doing my clinical duties back then, the babies in the nursery had their names written sa tags placed on their feet so I just assumed you need to be ready with it (the name).

Anyway, thanks K-Spy and Mi. I know you mean well. Sige sa sunod dakan nato ini ipadayon kun muabot na siya, kay inkulbaan na ako bagan paghilabi. hehehe! Again, thanks... :) :) :)

Sean is perfect!!!

I would say that coz that's my son's name too. Pero, what happened to the Filipino names we're used to, such as: Juan, Paulo, Pedro, and more? I kinda miss those names.

Well Bon, whatever you and colet's heart desire i'm sure it will be the best name you could ever give coz that's how precious babies are.

Good luck!!!
