New Site Version Launched

Today Tagosds.Org has launched its new site! After a month of hard work the new site has been completed. It is powered by Content Management System and MySQL Database. Many new features have been added and the layout has been refreshed.

Some new items have been disabled for the moment, but these will be enabled with a couple of days. The banner which is powered by macromedia flash is also in process. You will notice a fun, interactive poll on the home page, which I deployed using the QuickPolls application.

The launching of the new site version is also an anticipation for the rigid screening of Philippine Web Awards under community & portal category on March 2007, which the site's admin opted to join.

If you have further comments and suggestions just let me know. I hope that you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed the process of creating it. Thank you!

- News, articles and other info sections fully editable and manageable
- Articles and topics can be converted to adobe acrobat reader
- Email-a-friend and Print-format for every story and article
- Topics sections can be added to by contributing authors
- Fully customisable layouts including left, center and right menu boxes
- Browser upload of images to your own library for use anywhere in the site
- Dynamic Forum/Poll/Voting booth for on-the-spot results
- Runs on Linux, FreeBSD, MacOSX server, Solaris and AIX
- Extensive Administration
- Change order of objects including news, FAQs, articles etc.
- Random Newsflash generator
- Remote author submission module for News, Articles, FAQs and Links
- Object hierarchy - as many sections, departments, divisions and pages as you want
- Image library - store all your PNGs, PDFs, DOCs, XLSs, GIFs and JPEGs online for easy use
- Automatic Path-Finder. Place a picture and let Joomla! fix the link
- News feed manager. Choose from over 360 news feeds from around the world
- Archive manager. Put your old articles into cold storage rather than throw them out
- In-line Text editor similar to Word Pad
- User editable look and feel
- Polls/Surveys - Now put a different one on each page
- Custom Page Modules. Download custom page modules to spice up your site
- Layout preview. See how it looks before going live

The version 2 site is still in process of propagating its DNS to the tagosds.org mainpage. It would be up and running after 24-48 hours. For the meantime, you can access the version 2 site at http://www.tagosds.org/v2

Hi Bon,

Congratulations. . . very well done :) . . . I like the look of the mainpage a lot. The color contrast and the "flashing" newsflash. The loading of "articles" on newsflash is quick as well.

Hello UHOT.....hain na kaw anhi. Permi sa lamang kita anhi maglabay. Labaylabay lamang pero permi takaw hinandum "TOHU" :lol: :lol: :lol: gayod lamang kay pagalapinig pa ako koman na semana. Tawag da ako ngay-an kay e-update takaw nan actividades na depalita. :roll: :roll: :roll: uwani pa ngadi ,"HUT", linti kilat tago piyong pa gayod. :shock: :shock:

Hala lamang ... kay amo na sa anhin ato kinabuhi kuman nganhi sa Merika :wink: ... iyahanay talikod atubang nan tagsa-tagsa ka paninabuhi ...
