Hello Alexa..(Langging) ask your Mom what "Langging or Palangga" means.

Why "Manteyka"? You sleep like Manteyka? Manteyka is oil. Tell your Mom to explain to me too, why Manteyka. Probably it's just a "figure of speech"...ngih!!!!    OH!!!! I think Tito K-SPY have the answer.... both your Mom, Tito K-Spy speaks very profound tagon-on (terminology) dialect...... aayyyyy don't!!! :!:

Ok....nyt-nyt now. Sleep like a "Manteyka" :) :) ..Oh!   now it occures to me that "Manteyka" figuratively means "soundly". Because Oil is calm/smoothe...I guesss....... :) :) :)

goodnite---MuuuuaaaaaaHH :) xoxoxox

cordaps & abb:

nanga sa ya miss ko sa ini na post? #-o

yup, i agree with abb on cordap's skills. congrats!

but i need to congratulate amor and rich for this
wonderful spread. & i've got to have a copy
of the mag. and now if you'll excuse me,
i'll call amor.

to alexa:

i dunno there in the US, but 'mantika' or cooking oil here
in the philippines "freezes over/turns solid"
when temperature is cold. and there's no way
you can melt ("liquify") it again unless you
put it over some fire (like stove, etc.).
but even then it takes some time.

and so sleeping like a 'mantika' is a metaphor
for somebody who sleeps like a log
(or in your case, like a baby!)
that it takes no less than an intensity 7 earthquake
for him/her to wake up. =P~

Hi Tito Romel,

It's me Alexa. About the mantika, I got it Tito. :roll Thank you for the clarification.

My parents are funny Tito don't tell my Mom I said that :-$ :-$ because they tell us stuff they used to do when they were my age in the Philippines. Once my mom told us that they used to shake a tree to death so the beetles feeding off the leaves will fall. They then will tie a yarn into the beetle’s hind leg and keep them as pets. Is that true? My mom said people from Dad’s province would eat this kind of beetle. Is that true too?

I'm terrified of spider !!!! My Dad said they would have spider fights. They also keep spiders as pets inside an empty matchbox. Is that true? He said they will get punished by my greatgrandma because they empty all the matches so they can use the box as home for their spider pets. Did you do that when you were little? I’m really, really, frightened of spider!!! 8-[ 8-[

My brother is so gullible :-D :-D he believes everything my parents say. It’s just so weird that’s why I find it hard to believe. Can you clarify this for me too?

Thanks Tito.

I still miss you chocolate cake. :-D

Sincerely,

Alexa H. Arce

alexa dear,

your folks are not pulling your leg. what they
said to you are true. i myself did all those
things except eating insects like your dad did.
now i know why his hair turned silver gray. =P~

know what? you can even put a harness
(usually a sewing thread) on the bettle and
let it work like some propeller that pushes
the coconut midrib attached to a bar made
of sewing thread which in turn, kicks the tin
can and produces a measured sound like
somebody is milling rice. it's fun.
we'll try it on your next visit to victoria.
