I've learned at some point that 'worrying' itself is death. I try to ignore burdens & hindrances....those are just earthly stuffs.

I think, this topic is somehow related to a certain topic icep posted before. Anyhow, we never know when do we stop breathing yet I would stick to my thought as always.....
I only have one life to live,
live like today is your last day, always spend your day with people whom you think is very important to you.....life is beautiful thus live IT to the fullest! BUT... when HE offers me HIS hands and lead me the way, then I will follow HIM.

But in all honesty, YES! It would be nice to be 80 and coherent.
Happy Holidays....

sigwel dear, yes...how wonderful it would be to reach 80 or more... the future is uncertain... we have to live each day as if it's the last day we'd ever have.... kangilgig pamation... but who knows what the future holds for us? ..... i thank the Good Lord for each new day... new life... :) :) :)

I admire you abb! i'm still trying to "break up" with this man named "Worry"... i don't deserve him...

Allen,

Wish you a blessed Christmas and happy, healthy, peaceful New Year. Sorry, was hasty and remiss during my last visit. Did not see this post. Oh Allen, thanks. You flatter me. They say, “women are like fine wine, they season well with age”. Hope it is status quo ante with Mr. Worry. Vex not, my dearest, you are a very intelligent well-rounded young lady. You will do very well.

as for worry...hmmm..not a good company. a lot of people are under the illusion that by worrying, they are doing something abt their problems..what a shame! worry only serves to magnify the situation and take God out of the picture.

I couldn't agree more, ice! sometimes, i think "worrying must be a sin!" Why? By worrying and in worrying mean one does not trust the power, goodness and love of God...
:)

Hi Allen, I concord. Remember when Jesus said, “oh yee of little faith”? I was once a constant worrier. I mistake worry for concern. But 9/11 changed all that. We live in a world that can be paralyzing with fear and worry. Have discovered this wonderful thing called “faith”. When I feel worry bearing down on me, I instantly shoved it aside and embrace faith instead. Faith that God is watching over us 24/7. Try it, it works. :) Right now, there is a transit strike in effect. Yesterday afternoon, I started to worry as to how am I going to get to work since the strike seems imminent. Decided to say a child like prayer, "God, if there is to be a strike, please help me to get to work". Then, I went on about my day. Lo and behold, my neighbor called. They decided to drive in but, needed one more body to meet the 4 people per vehicle required in order to be allowed to cross the check point. Thank God for small miracles :) :)

That's great, abb!

I remember one text message... funny but it got me thinking...

"If you are walking on a street
when suddenly, a bird dropped its poopoo on your head..
don't get mad... just smile...
just thank God, carabaos don't fly...
Always thank God for small blessings!"

Small miracles make a great difference... God bless.. i hope the strike will not last long... :)

Allen,

Thank God, the strike lasted but 3 days. It was madness and chaos but people coped as best they knew how.

Thanks for sharing the “poopoo” story.

About a month or so ago, my daughter and I whiled time away at the library. We happened upon a story of 2 brothers that I’ll try to condense for you without missing it’s substance:

“Older brother wanted a new bike for Christmas while younger brother wanted an animal. Mother did not make much but she wanted to give her boys what they wanted. Come Christmas Eve, she only had enough money to buy older brother his present. For younger brother, Mother decided to go to the neighbor’s barn, took some manure, wrap it, and placed it under the Christmas tree. Come Christmas morning, mother called her boys and presented them their presents. Older brother opened his and right away started complaining and grumbling for the bike came in a box with a note “ASSEMBLY REQUIRED”. Younger brother opened his……., Mother’s heart beat fast . . . then, younger brother, gave mother the biggest and sweetest smile she ever saw. He then got up and ran to the door. Mother asked, “Where are you going son?” Younger brother replied, “Thank you Mother, you gave me a manure, the horse must be out there somewhere, I’m gonna go find him”.”

My wish is to have younger brother’s attitude always.

Take care/
Abb
